Union, Mo. – On Tuesday Franklin County deputies investigated a burglary that had occurred in the 2600 block of Highway AH, approximately eight miles south of Union, Mo.
Sheriff Gary Toelke said deputies discovered that copper wire, copper tubing, and electrical cords had been stolen from the residence. They also found a key piece of evidence, resulting in the arrest of a husband and wife duo.

Tuesday included touring the State Capital, visiting Arlington Cemetery and watching the changing of the guard, and topped off with dinner at the famous Chinese Restaurant, the Pekin Duck.

Kansas City, Mo. – Seeing a white color phase of a white-tail deer is rare. But Michael Utt of Sugar Creek now has photographs of two different white deer. Utt is watching them along with other deer in a small herd on private land near Lake of the Ozarks.
“They’re neat. You can see them coming through the woods from a long ways off,” he said.
Utt lives in the Kansas City metro area but travels to the lake for hunting, fishing and boating. In the autumn of 2011, he took photographs of a female deer that is possibly an albino with white fur and pink eyes. He continues to watch that deer as well as a doe with normal color that he believes is the parent.

Zero Tolerance means Zero Chances
New Haven, Mo. - With prom and graduation season here, Missouri Law Enforcement want to make sure Missouri youth are celebrating safe and sober. The New Haven Police Department will join other Missouri law enforcement agencies to crack down on drunk driving May 2-13, 2013.
Between 2010 and 2012, 77 people were killed and 363 seriously injured in Missouri roadway crashes involving an impaired driver under the age of 21.

The day began by visiting Thomas Jefferson Monticello and then onward to Washington D.C., which Taylor reports a noticeable increase in security particularly around the White House. This is all the result of this past weeks tragic events that took place in Boston, Ma.

Where has the baseball season disappeared too; dark black clouds and blankets of rains have nearly washed away New Haven's season, causing numerous games cancelled and several that will not be rescheduled.
New Haven picked up two big conference wins last week, snapping a two game skid with an 8-5 win at St. Clair and holding off St. James to win their second straight 3-2. Overall New Haven sits at 6-7 on the year and 3-2 in conference.

Over the past eight years New Haven Lumber has donated over $16,000 to various local organizations that support the New Haven community in numerous ways.
Thursday afternoon on the behalf of New Haven Lumber Store, Manager Ernie Swoboda and Chelsea Baumstark presented a check for $1000 to the New Haven Ministerial Alliance, which will go towards the New Haven Food Pantry.

Fifty-four school districts in south-central Missouri who met the criteria established by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Distinction in Performance were recently honored by South Central Regional Professional Development Center. Districts who met the criteria received a certificate of recognition provided by the Missouri Association of School Administrators.

New Haven’s Scholar Bowl Team cleaned house, out scoring opponents 1960 – 620, propelling the Shamrocks for their second District Championship in three years.
Wyatt Parsons and Graden Lovelace were New Haven’s top scores and two of the top three individuals overall, earning All-District Honors.
Parsons ended the day ranked number one by averaging 155 points per game and Loveless third overall with 105 points per game.
The Shamrocks began the day by breaking 500 points for the first time, rolling over New Bloomfield 590-60.

Franklin County, Mo. - Franklin County’s Homeland Security Response Team (HRST) is the team is made up of specially trained first responders from around the county. The team is fully equipped to handle any type of biological and/or Hazards Material (HazMat) incidents that may occur in the county.
New Haven- Berger Fire was one of the initial participating agencies when the HSRT was formed and continues to play an active role today.
