Pecaut has compiled an impressive resume both as a student and an athlete during her four years at New Haven.  Most recently Pecaut officially signed a letter of intent to further her volleyball career at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.

Kelsey has received countless awards recognizing her athletic and academic achievements along with being “respected by everyone from her fellow students, teammates, coaches, and teachers,” New Haven High School Principal Tim Strobel said.

Another example of the administration's priorities placing fish and wildlife above human life and property

This handout photo provided by the US Geological Survery (USGS), taken near Westhope, N.D., shows the Souris River at the peak for the great Souris River flood of 2011, with equipment stored in cooler bolted to roof of gage house because water level was above gage house shelf

Tom Waters Missouri Levee & Drainage District Association submitted this article published earlier this morning.

Waters commented on the article saying, "It is disturbing that the Obama Administration can find $70 Million for construction for Missouri River Fish and Wildlife Recovery in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, (FY2014 President's Budget) and at the same time sees fit to close critical flood-warning gauges when flooding is imminent in the Midwest."

WASHINGTON –  More than 100 crucial gauges that warn of imminent flooding or lack of needed water will be shut down starting next month as part of the federal government's automatic budget cuts.
Some are in the nine states threatened with spring flooding, U.S. Geological Survey officials said in interviews with The Associated Press.

Facebook Post About Dogs Being Stolen May Not Be Completely Accurate

Krakow, Mo. - Yesterday, the Krakow Veterinary Clinic posted on their Facebook page that there has “been multiple reports of dogs being stolen from the Leslie, Mo. area.”  They also stated that, “They [suspects] have broken into outdoor enclosures, cut fences, etc.”

Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke told QuickNewsNow this afternoon, “We had some reports about a van in the Lonedell area about three months ago.  Since then we have only received two reports of missing dogs; one being in the Leslie area.”

The Sheriff’s department has not received any reports of broken outdoor enclosures or cut fences as the Vet Clinic’s Facebook post suggests.  “In no way are we discrediting what was posted on Facebook.  We simply have not received any reports confirming their post” Sheriff Toelke added.

Franklin Top Turkey Harvest County - Expert Says Best Hunting Still Ahead

JEFFERSON CITY–In spite of less than ideal weather, hunters shot 21,437 turkeys during the first week of Missouri’s three-week spring hunting season.

This year’s first-week harvest is 328 fewer than last year, a 1.5-percent decrease. That small difference is fairly insignificant, according to Resource Scientist Jason Isabelle with the Missouri Department of Conservation. He says the first-week harvest number is encouraging considering the weather that many hunters had to contend with.
