West, Texas - Anywhere from five to 15 people have been killed in an explosion at a fertilizer plant in Texas.  The blast leveled buildings, creating a burst of energy equal to a magnitute 2.1 earthquake.

There was no indication of criminal activity, Waco, Texas, police Sgt. William Patrick Swanton said early Thursday, although the area was being treated as a crime scene as a precautionary measure.

"It was a huge explosion," he said. "It reached blocks, if not miles, in its devastating effect. ... My guess is going to be that ... we will see the casualty rate rise and the injury rate rise."

25th Stone Hill Winery's 10-Year Norton Vertical Tasting - The Norton Capital

Quick Thought:
By Kyle Quick
Hermann, Mo. – Saturday night, I had the privilege of attending Stone Hill’s 25th Annual Ten-Year Norton Vertical Tasting.

I must admit I had no clue what a ‘vertical tasting’ was.  However, it took very little time before I realized this was far more than an event to give people a reason to drink wine, this was a huge program you won’t find anywhere else.

For a quarter of a century, owners of Stone Hill Winery in Hermann, Mo, Jim and Betty Held, have shown off their Norton red wine each year since 1988.  This wine is considered a more classic or “artistic” style compared to the so-called “Missouri Style” wine.

Children and Teens with Autism More Likely to Become Preoccupied with Video Games

Researcher says this could lead to interventions to treat disorder

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Children and teens with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) use screen-based media, such as television and video games, more often than their typically developing peers and are more likely to develop problematic video game habits, a University of Missouri researcher found.

“Many parents and clinicians have noticed that children with ASD are fascinated with technology, and the results of our recent studies certainly support this idea,” said Micah

Mazurek, an assistant professor of health psychology and a clinical child psychologist at MU. “We found that children with ASD spent much more time playing video games than typically developing children, and they are much more likely to develop problematic or addictive patterns of video game play.”
