Union, Mo.- The Franklin County Fair Queen was crowned seconds ago during opening night of the 2013 Franklin County Fair.
Miss Andi Placht, New Haven, daughter of Bill and Barbara Placht was crowned 2013 Miss Franklin County.
She is a ten-year active member of the New Haven 4-H Club and four-year member and current President of the Washington FFA Chapter.
The 2013 First Runner Up is Miss Stephanie Holdmeyer of Washington. She is the daughter of Alex and Diane and is a member of the Campbellton Livestock 4-H Club.
Second Runner Up is Miss Kristy Cox Williams, daughter of Sam and Pam Williams of Robertsville. She is a member of the Maverick 4-H Club and the St. Clair FFA Chapter.
Miss Congeniality, Miss Kayla Vondera, is the daughter of George and Cheryl Vondera of Union. She is a member of the Union FFA Chapter and the Go Hog Wild 4-H Club. Miss Vondera was named 2nd Runner up in the 2012 Miss Franklin County Fair Queen Competition.
Several awards were given out during the pageant as well. Placht was presented with the Top Essay Award with an essay that combined the FFA Creed and Motto, as well as the 4-H Motto, intertwined with her 4-H and FFA experiences in a touching speech.
Cox was presented with the Elizabeth Harashe Community Service Award for collecting the most community service items for local charities. She collected 2,916 items.
Elizabeth Birkmann was named the Top Ticket Seller, selling over $1,000 worth of tickets.
