UPDATED: Clare Roth Crowned Queen Of 2014 New Haven Youth Fair

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - This evening at the New Haven Youth Fair, the Main Stage entertainment kicked off the fair with the Fair Queen Contest.  Miss Clare Roth was just crowned Queen of the 35th Annual Contest.

Miss Roth is daughter of Steve and Eileen Roth and sponsored by Bank of Franklin County.

Hannah Kruse, daughter of Kyle and Dena Kruse, was named the 1st Runner-up, Fey Chavez, daughter of Elizbeth and Fernando Chavez, was the 2nd Runner-up and Madison Yarbrough, daughter of Cindy and Scott Yarbrough was voted Miss Congeniality.

This summer Clare Roth is working as a lifeguard at the New Haven Pool and as an attendee at the New Haven Visitors Center. She will also be attending a summer leadership camp for Student Council, hosting her German sister, and preparing for her journey to Austria for the school year.

Some of Clare's school activities include: Cross Country (2 years), Track (2 years), National Honor Society (1 year), Student Council (1 year), Future Business Leaders of America (2 years), Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (member 1 year, treasurer 1 year), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (1 year), Scholar Bowl (1 year), ad Flag Corps (1 year).

Clare has received school awards in: Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for two years, Academic Activity Award, All-Conference in Cross Country, 2nd place in both Client Service and Intro to Business for FBLA district competition, FBLA State Qualifier, Cross Country State Qualifier, Varsity Letters in both Cross Country and Track both years, All State Alternate-Track 4x800 (2 years), Presidential Fitness Test Award, Student Council Camp Donalie Stormes Scholarship recipient.

Clare is involved in the community activities of Girls on the Run junior coach, lifeguarding at the New Haven Pool, babysitting, working at the New Haven Chamber of Commerce.

Clare's future plans are to be a Rotary Youth Exchange Student for the 2014-2015 school year in Vienna, Austria, and attend Mizzou after she finishes her senior year to pursue foreign relations.

During her free time, Clare enjoys running, reading, journaling, traveling, playing with her pug dog, Oscar, and going out with her best friends.

First Runner-up Hannah Kruse is the daughter of Kyle and Dena Kruse and sponsored by the New Haven Chamber of Commerce.

This summer Hannah is traveling to Washington D.C. as a delegate to the Rural Electric Youth Tour. She then will attend Missouri Girls' State.

Hannah recently competed in Accounting 1 at the FBLA National Leadership Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee where she placed 5th in the nation.

In July, she plans on going on vacation with her extended family to Florida.

In whatever spare time she has, Hannah will be training for cross country season, working at the New Haven Veterinary Clinic, or spending time with her family.

Some of Hannah's school activities include: Track and Field, Cross Country, Future Business Leaders of America, Basketball, Scholar Bowl, National Honor Society, Marching Band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Hannah has received school awards in: Track and Field(numerous medals, Varsity letter, All-State, Academic All-Conference), Cross Country (Varsity Letter, Academic All-Conference), Scholar Bowl (All-District Team, JV Conference Top Individual, Team won Districts twice), Band (Letter, Excellence in Music^FBLAfl5* in State, 3rd in Nation-Introduction to Business Communication; 2nd in State-Accounting 1; 5th in State-Business Math; 4th in State-Business Communication), Academic Activity Award, Physical Fitness Award, High Honor Roll, and was New Haven High School’s Student of the Month during her sophomore year.

Hannah is involved in the community activities of: Memorial Baptist Church Youth Group, Upwards Basketball (Volunteer Referee), and has assisted with the Girls on the Run Practice 5k.

Hannah has received other awards such as: Missouri Young Achievers Award.

Hannah's future plans are to graduate high school, then go on to college and veterinary school. Eventually, she hopes to be a successful veterinarian at a small animal clinic and own lots of dogs.

During her free time, Hannah works at the New Haven Vet Clinic, and she enjoys running, reading, and watching movies with her family.

Second Runner-Up Fey Chavez is the daughter of Elizabeth and Fernando Chavez and sponsored by the New Haven Care Center.

This summer Fey is a waitress at Los Cabos in Washington and also works at the New Haven
Care Center.

Some of Fey's school activities include: Track and Field, Cross Country, Cheerleading, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Marching Band and Future Business Leaders of America.

Fey has received numerous school awards, which include: Academic All- Conference in Track and Cross Country, Varsity letter in Track, Cross Country, and Cheerleading, First Team All- Conference and All-District in Cross Country, and attended Girl’s State in 2012.

Fey has been involved in several community activities such as Drive by Raking and Salvation Army Bell Ringer.

Fey's future plans are to attend Stephens College next fall and Major in Fashion Design and Product Development, minoring in Business.

Miss Congeniality Madison Yarbrough is the daughter of Cindy and Scott Yarbrough and sponsored by Jo Ann Kuschel of Bouef and Berger Mutual Insurance.

This summer Madison is working as a barista at Espresso Laine at the Junction and as a server at Riverbend Chapel. She will be attending the MASC Summer Workshop as a Junior Counselor for Council Y.

Madison will also be preparing for the Washington Town and Country Fair Queen Contest along with the New Haven Youth Fair Queen Contest.

Madison's school activities include: Student Council Choir, Cheerleading, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America,  Track and Field, Consumers of America, National Honor Society, and was a Shamrockette in New Haven High School’s Marching Band.

She is planning her arrival and stay at Northwest Missouri State University where she will be a freshmen in the fall. Madison plans on making new memories and reliving the old ones with her friends and family before she takes on a new adventure in her life as she heads of to college.

Madison's school awards include: Missouri Association of Student Councils Certified Student Leader Award, National Choral Student Award, NHHS Student of the Month, and has been an Honor Roll student while attending New Haven High School.

Madison participates in community events such as: St. Peter's UCC Youth Group, Drive By Raking, Red Bucket Donations, and Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.

When Madison has free time she enjoys spending time with her family and especially the “M Sisters”, having slumber parties with her friends, going on adventures, talking with her grandparents and hearing all the stories they tell, and loves watching Disney movies.

In the future, Madison plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University with the interests of majoring in Elementary Education and double minors in Music and Spanish.

During college, Madison plans on being involved in the Collegiate Choirs, Student Activities Council, and clubs that center around her faith and hobbies.

She plans on studying abroad during her college life and sponging up as much culture as she can bring into her life. Later on, Madison plans to become a teacher and raise a family of her own.
