Dissen Road Home Destroyed In 2nd Alarm Blaze

Note:  I am writing this short article because I’ve had numerous people asking about Thursday night’s fire.  It was purely by chance I was even there, I happen to be driving home from work before fire crews had arrived.

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Thursday evening at 4:59 p.m. New Haven/Berger Fire Crews responded for a first alarm house fire located on Dissen Road, approximately 4/10 of a mile from Highway E.  The fire was quickly upgraded to a second alarm, having several fire crews from Washington, Hermann, Union, and Gerald respond to assist due to the location and size of the fire.

When crews arrived at 5:11 p.m. fire already engulfed the majority of the home and a large portion of the roof had already collapsed.  Firefighters were forced to take a defensive attack to prevent the fire from spreading into the attached garage.

There were no reports of any injuries.  It is believed that no one was home at the time of the fire and unknown how Thursday evening’s blaze began.
