Fire Crews Tackle Partially Engulfed Truck Carrying 50 Gallon Diesel Tank

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - New Haven/Berger Fire Crews responded to the 3200 block of Boeuf Creek Road at approximately 4:40 this evening for a truck on fire.

When fire crews arrived heavy smoke and flames were shooting out of the front of the the truck but had not reached the rear of the truck where a 50 gallon tank of diesel was located.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire within 20 minutes of being dispatched.

We spoke with an individual at the scene.

He said, “The truck was parked where it is now.  I thought I smelt smoke and when I looked back large amounts of smoke was coming from the front end.”

The cause of the fire is unknown and will likely remain unknown.  The truck was a complete loss.
