WASHINGTON, Mo. - Saturday’s “War of the Wings” backyard barbecue wing contest was part of Scheer Landscape Company’s Bloom ’n Que Customer Appreciation Day.

Anyone could enter to compete for bragging rights for having the best wings and judging was conducted in a “people’s choice” fashion.

People could purchase a wrist band then taste each contest’s barbecued wings and vote by purchasing “voting” tickets.  All of the proceeds raised was then donated in the winning team’s name with a portion going to the New Haven Community Track Project and the Franklin County United Way.

Total amount raised for the New Haven Community Track Project was just over $1,500 and $400 for the Franklin County United Way.
