The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed that First Bank in Dutzow was robbed early Friday morning around 9 a.m.
All law enforcement agencies including the MSHP were given a description of the vehicle that the suspect was seen taking off in.
A state trooper observed a vehicle matching the description and after attempting to make a traffic stop the suspect began fleeing the the trooper in what turned into a high speed pursuit.
The MSHP has also confirmed that a trooper and the individual who committed the robbery were both shot when an exchange of gun fire occurred.
The MSHP has yet to release any additional information other than indicating the bullet hit the troopers bullet proof vest stopping the bullet from penetrating through the vest.
No word on the condition of the suspect has been released at this time.
The shooting took place near New Melle in St. Charles County.
