Union, Mo. - Last night's Four Rivers Conference JV & V games combined for a total of six overtimes at Union High School.
In the JV game New Haven trailed by four in the 4th overtime when Andrew Menke drained a three and was fouled with 1.8 seconds remaining to pull New Haven within one. Menke's free throw was off the mark as Union held on 37-36.
In the Varsity game New Haven's Ross Seitter took a beating, getting elbowed not once but twice. The second elbow sent Seitter to the ground as the foul was ruled flagrant and Union's Nick Ziegler ejected.
It took two overtimes to decide last night's Four Rivers Conference battle as New Haven outlasted Union 52-49, picking up a big conference win against Union who was just 5-10 on the season.
Kyle Ruediger lead all scores with 20 points as New Haven improves to 1-1 in conference and 13-4 on the year.
Tomorrow night New Haven turns right around to play Hermann for third place of the Hermann Tournament after games were canceled last weekend.
How will the Shamrocks come out tomorrow night after playing five hard fought quarters? Only time will tell as Hermann also played tonight at Owensville.
New Haven will play Hermann at 5 p.m. which will be broadcasted live followed by the girls championship game where Hermann and Owensville will battle it out for the second straight night as the Lady Bearcats played at Owensville tonight as well.
The Lady Shamrocks will play at home Saturday night at 5 p.m. agains Elsberry.
