Fri. Feb 28 - Timing plays an important part in learning to trust God. If He did everything we asked for immediately, we would never grow and develop. Timing and trust work side by side, which develops our Faith.  There are days when FAITH is all we have. He is with us every second of the day. There are a lot of times when we get cocky and think we have it under control. No matter how good you are, sorry to tell you it’s you!!

But I trust in you, O Lord: I say “You are my God.” My times are in your hands….Psalm 31:14, 15.

Thurs. Feb. 27th - Get the most out of every day. Do your part, but do not try to do God’s part. Change in our lives comes as a result of having our minds renewed by the Word of God.

As we agree with God and really believe that what He says in His Word is true, it gradually begins to show through our lives.

This process develops in stages and through different situations in our lives. We all are a work in progress until God fully completes us.

We can always take the attitude that while the process is taking place: “I am not where I need to be, but, thank God, I am not where I used to be; I’m OK, and I’m on my way!!”

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ return, developing and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. ~ Philippians 1:6

Wed. Feb. 26th - Broken things can become blessed things if you let GOD do the mending.

Be grateful for all the obstacles in your life. They have strengthened you as you continue with your journey.

That journey can be so many things. Health issues, feeling lost when raising your children, financial problems, caring for elderly parents or life in general. I’ve often felt that when things were going right or I was excited about something I had planned that something would always take a turn and disappointment would set in. Now I look at it differently; God knew I needed to have a change of MY plan to bring things back to His. I know God never promised it would be easy and we’d have setbacks. I also know He promised He’d be there to guide and comfort us. Give all the glory to our all-knowing Heaven Father.

Dear Lord, Thank you for waking us this morning to enjoy this beautiful sunshine. We all know in our hearts that our lives will be filled with setbacks, but we are blessed to be reassured you are always there. Help us to understand that setbacks are just you reeling us back in to follow your plan NOT ours. We pray in your holy name. Amen.

Tues. Feb. 25th - One of my devotionals this morning is about “The pain of correction”.  The comparison to correcting our teeth with braces and correcting our faith and love for God.

The orthodontist may say: “This is going to hurt a bit.” Not exactly what you want to hear when someone has her hands in your mouth.” We survive that pain because we want to improve our outward appearance.

I have never experienced braces, but I am sure there are some days when the patient wonders if it is really worth it.

There are days when God may say the same thing to us: “This is going to hurt a bit, but the power of My Word working on your heart will help get you to a healthy place.” Hurt a bit? What kind of pain is He talking about?

His Word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6, NIV).  Any pain and suffering God allows us to experience is only for our good.

While you send up praises, God is making a way out of no way. "A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name." Psalms 103:1

Sun. Feb. 23 - When you’re tempted to lose your patience with someone, think how patient God has been with you all the time. I find myself more easily letting go of things than I had in the past.

When you have time to really think about things and put things in perspective you realize there are so many more productive things you should be doing with your life. With forgiveness comes peace and not allowing it to be an issue in the first place is the key.

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:" Matthew 6:14

Fri. Feb. 21 - God plans out each day and has it ready for when we awake. How blessed I was today…This morning I knew I’d be spending some time with Kristina and Ryder, one of three children she nannies for.

Visiting that family will guarantee you’ll be wearing a SMILE!! Ryder is four and has the vocabulary and understanding of words of a 24 year old. Wyatt is nine, very intelligent, more reserved than the other two and a very responsible big brother. Shiloh will be seven this weekend. She’s the princess of the family and also very intelligent.

I think she still wants to follow in Dad and Mom’s foot-steps and be a doctor. It amazes me of all the things that the much younger generation knows and actually understands. I love when God puts me in the situation to spend time with all three of them. Spend time with a younger child and you’ll be refreshed by their knowledge and spirit!!

One of Ryder’s recent stories went like this; when they were in Kristina’s (NINA) car listening to music going to school.

Ryder – “Miss Nina, this is a “computer generated song.””
Kristina – “Who told you that?”
Ryder – “My mind did.”
Kristina – “Ryder, really where did you hear that?”
Ryder – “Miss Nina, I know things!!”

Wed. Feb. 19 - Let God fight your battles. His wisdom exceeds ours. "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14

Part of this message is from February 18th’s Jesus Calling devotional…I AM WITH YOU.  These four words are like a safety net, protecting us from falling into depression. Because of who we are, HUMANS, we will always have ups and downs in our lives. Sometimes we may feel we are free falling and when others let us down we feel so alone. God wants to reassure us that those four little words are all we need to remember…I AM WITH YOU!!

I reference one of my favorite verses a lot. My aunt brought it to my attention at the beginning of my journey…Psalm 46:10-11…”Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!”

Faith enables us to “be still and know he’s with us. Many times the doctors and nurses would tell me, “You don’t have to be the super hero, Brenda.”  Basically, telling me it’s ok to be human, to feel pain and sadness. I always thought to myself, “You don’t know me very well and I’ll be who I am, because I know HE IS WITH ME and giving me strength!!” May God be your strength today and always!!

Tues. Feb. 18 - Just a quick update…The MRI came back good. The doctors see the treatment making progress…In my laymen terms, “all is good for now”. I know all I can control is my own response to troubles and trials.

That’s where the power of FAITH in God lies. I made a decision many months ago that no matter what comes my way, I will not allow it take over my life. Remember, I’m that stubborn women that will not fail and will prove everyone wrong, if I can; yet I respect others opinions when I am wrong, and don’t have a problem admitting my mistakes.

Amen to these statements. Wake up every morning with a thankful attitude. Expect something good to happen in your life today.

God uses trials to bring about His promises. He is not going to just help you survive; He’s going to help you thrive and come out the other side blessed.

He understands every prayer and every problem. "Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite." Psalms 147:5

Dear God, thank you for giving me the life you have chosen for me. Thank you for being with my family and friends, old and new, in helping them to understand what I’m going through and my ways of handling it. I have never had to walk it alone, which has made this journey a breeze thus far. I can always count on You and my great supports to be by my side. I pray in your holy name. Amen

Mon. Feb. 17 - Anyone can make you smile, many people can make you cry, but it takes someone really special to make you smile with tears in your eyes.

Today, show someone you care. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." 1 John 4:11

Today is full of opportunities to be the person you want to be.

SMILE!!! Laughing

Sun. Feb. 16th - Worry is a total waste of time. It doesn’t change anything. All it does is steal your joy and keep you very busy doing nothing.

"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase." ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

When we belong to Jesus we are loved and accepted forever

Sat. Feb 15th. - When the Lord leads you, there is no reason for you to be afraid to move forward. "Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth." Jeremiah 1:9

The closer you walk with God, the less room for anything to come between.

Listen to the voice of the Lord. "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." Psalms 32:8

God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him. ~ Psalm 37:7

Fri. Feb. 14th - Life is unpredictable and things might not always work out the way you want them to, but that’s no reason to give up.

You’re here for a reason and someday when you’re not expecting it, you’re going to discover your reason for being here. And when that does happen, your life will never be the same again. — Unknown

This quote is perfect for my Valentine’s Day and for life in general we often wonder “what’s my purpose”? Life is very unpredictable and one thing I have learned over the past year, whether it’s your health, a relationships or just life in general…Do what makes you happy!!!

Spend time with those that make you happy and fulfilled…and by all means laugh a lot!!! God has a purpose and sometimes we have to wait it out until He knows we’re ready.

I want to wish a Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you for standing by me and seeing me through this past year and of course the many years to come. I love you all.

Wed. Feb. 12th - When things on earth sometimes seem impossible, we can take comfort in knowing that “the best is yet to come and that God has our back.”  You already have the victory. Rejoice!

"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4

“Father, help us all to see beyond our limitations.  Every man’s life is a fairy tale written by God’s fingers.” ~ Hans Christian Anderson

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are they works; and that my soul knoweth right well” ~ Psalms 139:14

Tues. Feb. 11th - Do you ever worry that God may be angry at you and when things don’t go as we want He may be punishing you for something? God wants us to know that will never be the case. Be encouraged. God has something greater for you and is a forgiving God!!

"For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalms 30:5

Mon. Feb. 10th - Nobody wants to "sacrifice" who they are, but it's odd how when we sacrifice our desires for God, He fills us with real life and purpose. Galatians 2:19-20: "I have been put to death with Christ on his cross, so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me." ~ From 99.1 JoyFM

Sometimes the strongest people are the ones who love beyond all faults, cry behind closed doors and fight battles that nobody knows about. — Unknown

Stressing over our problems can be our biggest problem. Stop giving the enemy satisfaction and start believing God will make a way!

"Today, let's set our minds and hearts on feeling more thankful for what we are than guilty for what we're not. Let's cut the threads of guilt with grace.” ~ Lysa TerKeurst

Scripture says, “Blessed are those who look for, whom long for, and who expect His victory." Believe that today is your day.

Sun. Feb 9  - Are you tired? Worn out? Confused about life?

God tells us in scripture...

Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

God is waiting for you to ask for His help. He doesn’t want you to feel overwhelmed. Enjoy your day and all that God has in store for you.

Sat. Feb 8 - Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience.

From the moment on, every voice that ever told you you can’t, is silenced. Every reason that tells you things will never change, disappears. And the person you were, before this moment, that persons turn is over.  Now, it’s YOUR turn!!

Strive for happiness. God wants nothing less for you. I’ve always been kind of a rebel when it comes to someone telling me I can’t do something.

Whether it’s because I’m a women, whether they think I don’t have the enough training or schooling to do something BIG…my nature is to prove you WRONG.

Maybe I didn’t obtain a degree in anything, but I’m thinking that’s not the only way to use your talents…maybe God made me extra special and I have other purposes. God has given me every opportunity to make the most out of my life…And I’m not stopping until it’s over.

Fri. Feb. 7 - On particularly rough days when I’m sure I can’t possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100% and that’s pretty good. They wouldn’t be near as good if I didn’t have Faith. God is so good!!

God wants you to prosper. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

Give thanks for wisdom to know when God is blessing you. "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." Proverbs 10:22

The Lord is everything you need and more. "And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;" 2 Samuel 22:2

Thur. Feb. 6 - There will be days in which we just don’t feel at the top of our game; whether it’s our health, our jobs, or family issues.

What we can be assured is that God is waiting for us to ask Him for help and comfort. He’s all about us, and is ready to bless us and restore us.

He wants us to know we can hold tight to His hand. He may be teaching us a difficult lesson, which we can only learn through hardships.

Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. ~ 1 Timothy 2:8.

What comfort it gives me to know that the ultimate fixer of problems is on my side.

Wed. Feb 5 - In the reaching toward what lies ahead in the future, we must not lose sight of now!! Don’t lose today being concerned about tomorrow. Make the most of the day you’re in and look for a way to encourage others to praise our God.

This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~ Psalm 118:24.

Tues. Feb 4 - Let’s practicing loving one another. Each one of us has our imperfections and faults, that’s the way He made us. Don’t dwell on yours or others; don’t allow things that others say to bring you down. Forgive them and work on loving each other for who they are. "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not." Romans 12:14

Proverbs 20:24 says, “Since the Lord is directing our steps, don’t try to figure out everything that happens along the way.” Trust in Him.

You have to believe it so you can receive it. "Therefore I say unto you, what things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24

Mon. Feb 3. - No other name can HEAL us. No other name can FREE us. No other name is so PRECIOUS. Let’s praise the name of JESUS. We can do none of these things on our own. He paid the price and with the help and guidance of God we’re promised all these things. Make your week all about HIM!!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13

Father, we thank you for your love and protection. We ask that you would go before us today and direct our paths. We know all things are possible through you.  In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Sun. Feb. 2 - I can't control the things that happen to me each day, but I can control how I think about them. I can say to myself, "I have a choice to have destructive thoughts or constructive thoughts right now. I can wallow in what's wrong and make things worse, or I can ask God for a better perspective to help me see good even when I don't feel good. I know there have been things in life that others haven’t approved of, but God did.

He guided me through it all and blessed me with my beautiful daughters and wonderful friends and family. I whole hearted believe that my Faith in Him during good and bad was all His preparation for ME to better serve Him.

He wants us to be still and trust Him. "O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom." Job 13:5
