Fri. Jan. 31 - You may be up against a big challenge today, but that means you have a big destiny.  The size of your problem is an indication of the size of your future. What every the challenge; project at work, a big game that could turn things around for the team, starting of a new career or whatever the challenge. He is there by your side and has given you everything you need.

You have all you need living inside you. "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Ephesians 4:6

Thur. Jan. 30 - If you’re a problem solver, attack your problems with Faith. "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." Ephesians 6:16

In the past I worked as a support analyst and project manager. I was always working on issues, trying to help others out, trying to figuring out how to make it all work; IT WAS MY JOB.

I know I probably took it heart when I wasn’t able to resolve or should I say there was no resolution. Maybe I should have used more pray at work...;) What we need to remember after you finish asking, believe and you will receive your answer.

"For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:8

Wed. Jan. 29 - I know I talk about prayer a lot and how I feel that just a conversation with God is all he really asked for, but I have to admit deep down I truly wish I had the gift to be a real “pray-er” and stay focused. The below message from Sandi, with Joy FM just hit be differently today. I believe my next pray will be for God to help me be a better “pray-er”.

Do you think you're not a good "pray-er?" That is probably a good thing! "When you come before God, don't turn it into a theatrical production. Find a quiet place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can. The focus will shift from you to God and you will begin to sense His grace." I want my prayer time focus to shift from me to God! How about you?

Until God gives me that gift of prayer, I’ll stick to His word in Matthew 6:8-14…

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.[a]
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us to the time of trial,
but rescue us from the evil one.

For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; AMEN

Mon. Jan. 27th - There are many things in our lives we have no control over. Whether it’s health issues, relationship issues, financial issues and we have to know when to know it’s out of our control and accept God’s help.

Wouldn’t it be perfect to have a problem-free life? But God never promised that to us; but He did promise that He would be there to guide us. Instead of trying to seek perfection and solve our problems on our own God asked that we use our energy to find Him.

When things seem all wrong, your Faith can help you trust Him to get through any circumstance.

Father, we place our problems, worries and fears in your hands. We ask you to replace these feelings with hope and encouragement as we trust in you. Thank you in advance. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Sun. Jan. 26th - "I used to ask God to help me,
Then I asked if I may help him
I ended up by asking God to do His work through me". ~Unknown Author

For God is at work within do what He wants. Phil 2:13

"Because He's near, we don’t have to be anxious or feel out of control. We have peace that rises above any circumstance!"

"Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry." - James 1:19

A good life is when you SMILE often, DREAM big, LAUGH a lot, and realize just how BLESSED you are for what you have.

Sat. Jan. 25 - "In surrender, God can use our burdens as an avenue for His power and grace." ~ Micca Campbell

In each season of our lives, even the ones moving through murky waters when we can only see in part, we can trust in the One who viewed it all.  There is something beautiful happening just below the surface.  May God give us eyes to see it clearly.~ Amy Carroll

Fri. Jan. 24th - God knows you will go through problems. He will give you strength to get through it. "He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increased strength." Isaiah 40:29

Despite your problems, your trials, your worries, and your temptations, be assured that you will benefit in the end. So look to the end and rejoice now!!

Dear God,

I need you. I am humbly calling out for you. I’m tired of doing things my way. Help me to start doing things your way. I invite you into my life to be my Lord and Savior.  Fill the emptiness in me with your Holy Spirit and make me whole.  Lord, help me to trust you, help me to love you, and help me to understand your grace, mercy, and peace.  Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Thur. Jan. 23rd - "Something's got to change this year!" Have you ever said that? I sure have.

It's usually when I'm frustrated with myself for something I'm not doing. For example, when I focus on the same three things: losing weight, better managing my work load, handling things at work, and spending more time with people I love.

It's not for lack of trying, but my situations don't change; I work hard. But recently it dawned on me that I keep trying the same things in varying measures. The problem isn't my effort; it's my approach. Something has to change…"

I’ve come to realize that I’m not relying on God enough to help me make those changes. I read a devotional this morning that had a very simple solution. Every time you’re feeling down on yourself stop and pray for His help. You have God on your side.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

Wed. Jan 22 - Have you ever wondered why God would choose you to be part of a particular situation or plan; Have you ever wondered why He didn’t choose you?

Why he would care about you and your sin out of the billions of people on earth? He has a plan for you; He had your life planned way before you were even a glimmer in your parent’s eyes. Faith can change your thoughts about everything.

Below are few lines of the lyrics from the beautiful song “Who Am I” by Casting Crowns.

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt?
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart?

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

Tues. Jan. 21st - Maybe sometimes you have to stop waiting for someone to come along and fix what’s wrong. Maybe you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and realize that no one else has the right answer. Maybe sometimes you have to be your own hero. — Unknown

If God is asking you to step out into something that is uncomfortable for, you can be assured that when you take that step of faith, that you will find Him walking right beside you.

Be positive and think about the exciting things that can happen. Your attitude makes all the difference in your life, as well as others. It may be difficult at first, but it will be worth in the end.

God is good, and several times a day we should tell Him that we realize that fact.

Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) O give thanks to the Lord for He is good; for His mercy and loving kindness endures forever! ~ Psalm 106:1

Mon. Jan. 20th - God is not holding anything against you. He’s not judging you by your mistakes. He’s not finding fault. God is full of mercy and grace. He wants to bless you in spite of your failures.

When going through a hard time, play these thoughts on repeat in your mind: "This is only a season. This isn't how it's going to be forever. This to shall pass."

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven… Ecc 3:1

Dear God, please keep my family, friends, and loved ones safe.  Please watch over them always, and let good health, happiness, and blessings be with them always. Amen

Sun. Jan 19 - Even when it seems life is against you and nothing is going right, always remember God is there. Look to God and learn to trust Him when things go “wrong”.

Trusting and accepting the trials in life bring blessings that far outweigh them all. He’s never promised it would always be easy, but oh how rewarding it is when you see the light!!!  FAITH!!!

God protects you from dangers seen and unseen. "When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." Psalms 27:2

Sat. Jan 18. - God sometimes takes us into troubled waters not to drown us but to cleanse us.

If you are experiencing problems and just don’t where to turn; just say Jesus!! Jesus, I need you now. You always have a place to run to, always. The place is GOD. Be still and listen, He knows your needs.

Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength,
a very present[a] help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
    though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Psalm 46:10-11
“Be still, and know that I am God!
I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth.”
The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge.

Fri. Jan. 17th - We are to represent our Heavenly Father and be like Him. We should be an example of His goodness—so blessed, and so generous that other people want what we have. What you are willing to give others and how you carry yourself should be your natural instinct without hesitation.

For change to be lasting, it must come from your heart.  Only God can affect that type of heart change.  Let God be God!!

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within up: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ~ Ezekiel 36:26

Tues. Jan 14. - A loving parent has to discipline his children. The Father may discipline us, but He will not punish us when I meet Him. Jesus took my punishment on the cross. Therefore, I have nothing to fear.

I’m so thankful and blessed by my FAITH; but there are so many things that continue to be beyond my understanding. He forgives us of all our sins, no matter how great or small and promises us an eternal home is Heaven. All He asks is for us to ask for forgiveness and to be truly sorry for our wrong doings.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.- 1 John 4:18.

Whom shall I fear?  For the Lord is my light and my salvation. ~ Psalm 27:1

Mon. Jan 13th - Do you ever feel that prayer can become overwhelming or you pray in the morning and then you recall a few minutes later that you have forgotten someone? God knows all that need His help and if you feel guilty you may have missed someone; stop what you’re doing and say a short pray for them.  As I’ve mentioned is messages before I say many, many prayers throughout the day. You could always try this all encompassing prayer.

Heavenly Father, I ask that you would touch every person that needs a healing right now. We know there is nothing too hard for you. By faith, we claim the victory. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Sun. Jan. 12th - My dad, sister, Jeff and I spent a couple days at the lake. We did a few things around the condo and laughed a whole lot. Spending time with family has been extra special for us over the past number of months. Embrace every moment and find every chance you can to be with family. Below are a few statements for you to think about…

"To be in our children's memories tomorrow we have to be in their lives today."

Jesus, help me look at my day and list out what I have to get done and then let the rest go so I can spend and invest quality time with my kids and family.

“Love your Parents and treat them with Loving Care. Only you know their value when you see their empty chair.”

Enjoy the little things in life because one day you will look back and realize they were the big things.

Sat. Jan. 11th - Although at the time it feels like your life has been turned upside down…Storms don’t last forever!! Take a good look at your life and find the blessings He has given you.

Remember, the storms you have encountered have only made you stronger. You are wiser, you are more alive, and you are headed for victory. Your brightest days are right out in front of you! Always remember that with God on your side, nothing can hold you back! I pray that God finds the troubles in your heart and helps you resolve them with His help. May God bless your day!!

Fri. Jan 10th - God is with and for you. When you make a plan that’s good with God, there’s nothing that can keep you from being successful. My patience level always gets me in trouble. Patience and waiting is not one of my strong characteristics…I’m working on it.

With God’s guidance and help we can overcome all obstacles. We tend to create our own stress by wanting things to happen before God’s ready. Slow down, and enjoy the journey and plan He has put in place. Don’t be discouraged – never give up!

Psalm 46:1-3 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present[a] help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble with its tumult.

Thurs. Jan. 9th "Have you ever had an "aha" moment when the Holy Spirit opens your eyes, and you see something you had somehow missed or even ignored before. You have a startling realization that changes everything.

And then suddenly you realize a truth. That truth has always been there, but for some reason, you just didn’t see it or ignored it before. Then it’s the right time and the right place, and finally realization wakes you up and brings you to your senses. It’s not a “coincidence”; it’s an “AHA!” moment from God.

This is an “AHA” moment, and within the parable of the Prodigal Son, there are three ingredients that are present in every AHA experience.

1. A Sudden Awakening – Being told of the brain tumor.

2. Brutal Honesty – Doctor’s honesty of the diagnosis and there was no time to waste.

3. Immediate Action – The surgery three days after the discovery.

Wed. Jan. 8th - When I saw this devotional I could vividly recall that 17th day of May as if it were yesterday. My “AHA” moment also included a visit from God in the middle of the night when I was in the hospital. Oh how I’ve been blessed!

You can’t always choose the path you walk in life, but you can always choose the manner in which you walk it.” - John O’Leary

The bottom line is this: the way we speak to others and the path we take to be an example can either lift others up or push them down. Choose today to purposely lift them up. We'll all be better for it. Open your eyes to that possibility.

Today begin making a to-do list of things not going well in your life. Things in our relationships, work, finances, health, emotional challenges...everyone of us has them. Even though we try to hide behind them they are still there and could be making our lives miserable. The other option is to be bold enough to sit back, reflect on your blessings and say to anyone willing to listen "I rarely feel sorry for myself. How could I? I am so lucky!"

Tues. Jan 7 - "What if your blessings come through raindrops? What if Your healing comes through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near? What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?" ~ “Blessings ~ Laura Story

A couple years ago my sister Janice brought these words to my attention; I would go to sleep listening to these words, through the song “Blessings” by Laura Story. These words are based off of scripture in
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18….16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

If there is one constant in this world it’s our Heavenly Father and Prayer; pure conversation with God….anytime, anyplace. So many of our experiences in life are disguised on purpose or we as humans would try to change or manipulate them into what we think are good for us. Listening to this song will get you thinking about God’s purpose and so called coincidence. Keep in mind so much is beyond our understanding; Faith is in believing!! God bless your day!!

Mon. Jan 6th - No matter what you’ve been avoiding out of fear or embarrassment, be determined to take one positive step today in this New Year. Confront the fear and you’ll usually find the worry wasn’t worth it. It’s not always easy, so here are a few empowering verses to use when fear is holding you back:

*Isaiah 41:10:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand."

*Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you."

*2 Timothy 1:7
"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind."

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me in spite of my weaknesses. I want to trust you more and confess the times fear has held me back. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Sat. Jan. 4 - We have a lot to celebrate! "See what great love the Father has lavished upon us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!" -1 John 3:1

Sometimes the fastest way isn’t always the best way. Sometimes the best things in life take a while. – Emily Beth

Today I’d like to announce that I’ll finally be getting a son. My youngest daughter, Ashleigh and her boy-friend got engaged on New Year’s Eve. It’s been killing me to keep my mouth shut, but they wanted to make sure all were told in the right time and manner. Many people continually asked when is Adam going to pop the question. I’m sure some thought they’ve been dating forever, “it’s about time”, but Adam had a plan and it was perfect. Proof of why the fastest way isn’t always the best way. Sometimes the best things in life take time…..Oh, by the way she said, “YES”.

We couldn’t be more blessed to have Adam as a part of our family. He loves Ash and will care for her forever. It’s going to be a great 2014!! Have a safe and blessed weekend!!

Thu. Jan 2 - God has been so good to us. "What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?" Psalms 116:12

Daily I wonder about what I have done to be so blessed and be chosen to be His witnessing child. We all know that most things that happen in our lives are beyond our understanding. Make the most of what you have. Get your hopes up. Raise your expectations. Your best days are still in front of you.

All The Father asks in return is for us to be a believers and witness His good Word. There are no limitations with God. Keep your faith stirred up. Believe and declare that you are going to see God’s goodness in amazing ways in 2014! Make room for something new this year. Go out every day expecting blessings, divine connections & exceptional favor.
