July 31 - God does not promise us an easy life, free of troubles, trials, difficulties, or temptations. He never promised life to be perfect.  He does doesn’t promise that every day will be stress free; some days may feel like a battleground, but in the midst of it all, when we put our trust and faith in Him, we truly discover that “the joy of the Lord is our strength and refuge.”

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

Smile!! Encourage others and complement them.  There may be things we’re not cut out to do. But encouragement  from one and another gives us the strength to so what we feel we cannot do, hold on when we feel we cannot hold on, and try what we might not otherwise dare to try.  Encourage others to look to God for their strength in times of trouble.  May God carry you there this life He has blessed you with. You were thoughtful made. Have a great Thursday.

“The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” – Psalm 92:14-15

July 30 - This message may sound strange today, but I’m getting a new used refrigerator today. I’m thrilled!! Used has always been good enough for me. I’ve never been a High Maintenance person.  I have really learned when you put life in perspective material things really aren’t that important. I’d much rather give to others than to give to myself. I much rather try fixing something myself before asking for help.

God did not make me to impress anyone. Not to be perfect or a genius, but to be genuine. He never intended for me to make a million dollars. God made me to be honest in my faith, and to be content with making other happy. To be there regardless of who you are or how you look. He’s helping me to learn to listen more than talk. To accept others right where they are and to love unconditionally. If He can love unconditionally than so should I.

God made me to be real and honest. To be open and never to compare myself to others, but to strive become my own best person. Don’t be afraid to just be you. God was please when He made you.

Each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. 1 Corinthians 7:17

July 29 -  Have you ever felt that "urge"? The whisper in your heart to reach out and do something that feels uncomfortable ... awkward ... even embarrassing? Trust that feeling. Often it's God's invitation to participate in His heavenly work. It’s God moving you to let your light shine into His broken and hurting world.

My goal every day is for others to see Him through me, whether it’s through my actions, or words. I want others to just consider what makes me so happy. When you invite Jesus into our lives, we can’t help but to shine. He wants us to receive His unconditional love and during interaction with others they receive that unconditional, never-ending love.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. – Galatians 5:22.  With greatest of these being LOVE!!

July 28 - Rejoice is the Lord always: again I say, Rejoice. – Philippians 4:4

Enjoyment of life is not only based on enjoyable circumstances. It is an attitude of the heart, the attitude to enjoy everything because everything’s from God. Small or large it’s all part of the big picture and will all come together.

We as Christians have the opportunity to share our love of Christian music and ministry this year at the Washington Fair.  Matthew West will be joining the lineup of music entertainment this year on Wednesday, August 6th. As Christians let’s show support by coming out in force.  Let’s show our appreciation to the fair board for making this possible. I’m not usually much of a fair goer, but I’m looking so forward to August 6th.

This is our chance to make Christ’s love known.  To some this opportunity may seem small, but just imagine just how big it could be.

“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all the day long.” – Psalm 25:4-5

July 27- Even as He chose us in Him before the creation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. – Ephesians 1:4-6

It’s that way with our own children. God gives us beautiful babies to be raised up knowing and believing in Him. It's our job as parents to bring them up loving for the Lord.

But, do you sometimes wonder if your children are getting it? If you’re living a faithful Christian life most likely they are for sure seeing it and getting it. We all need a little guidance though, so set the groundwork and ask God to help them see it.

We are blessed! "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

July 26 - We love because He first loved us. – 1 John 4:19

Today’s message comes partially from Mustard Seed Devotion.
It has been said the three most powerful words in the English language are "I love you." Yet they are sometimes difficult for us to express. However, in His Word God we are told over and over that He loves us. He even sent His Son Jesus to be our Savior from sin and its consequences. How great a love this is!?!

Our heavenly Father has given Christian parents the ability to speak love, share love, and live love. Say the words “I love you” to your children frequently. Hugs, kisses, and even high fives are great ways to share love between children and parents. Taking walks, cooking, and reading together show love, too. This love comes from God who first loved us. However, children need to be "told" love as well.

My girls heard those three little words frequently. I remember my dad saying to the grandkids, “Come here grandpa wants to tell you something.” He would then whisper in their ears, ”guess what?”… “I love you!” After a while they knew the routine and would jump in and say it before he would get the chance. What a great memory!!

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us. – 1 john 4:12

I have no problem telling others I love them. A smile and “I love you” could be all someone needs to brighten their day. I was told this week that Mary Kelley would end her conversations saying, “Love, Love”. I’m not sure if that was just to family or to others as well, but regardless it makes be smile to think of her and imagining her saying it. This one’s for you Marian Kelley. “Love, Love”

July 25 - Love one another deeply, from the heart. – 1Peter 1:22

When we feel accepted by a social group, our colleagues, or a romantic interest, it feels absolutely wonderful and perfect, right? It makes us feel safe, valued, and loved. It makes us have this sense of purpose. Not finding that purpose or rejection, on the other hand, can feel pretty awful, even depressing sometimes.

“The purpose of life, is a life with purpose.” – Robert Byrne

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. – Romans 12:10

July 24 - All things are possible with God. Mark 10:27.

"Dare to make that difference. Take that step. Follow that dream." ~ Holley Gerth

Maybe some of us are content with where we are and what we’re doing.  Then there may be some of us, at age 50+ that still aren’t sure what we want to be when we grow up…I kind of have the frame of mind that I want to try everything. At this given time God has me doing what He’s called me to do, but who knows what will be my calling next year or even next month?!? One thing I do know in my heart and have experienced, is that “all things are possible with God.”  Writing has never been my forte, but maybe this daily journal of inspiration is a start of something big, that will make a BIG difference.

It is your life and whatever you decide to do with it be happy doing it. If you feel the urge to step out of your comfort zone, do it!! If you put your whole heart into it God will not let you fall.

“But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purpose of His heart through all generations.” – Psalm

July 23 - I’d never thought I’d writing words that inspire others. This is my life, and I’ve always tried to set good examples for my girls, just the way life was taught to me.

These no need to try an impress people, they’ll see right through it, besides that doesn’t impress God either!! So what I try to do daily is to share my faith by simply sharing my life and the experiences I go through and add a little scripture to back it up

Everyone can relate to real life experiences and sometimes a good story.  God is so good, and he encourages us to live a moral life.  Yes, we all have weaknesses; those are the times when God wants us to come to Him. Put on your smile and let your faith shine through.

By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. – John 13:35

July 22 - Today's message comes mainly from Joel O'steen's words, but it fits me perfectly right now. I'm sure there are many others out there that experience these same feelings. I'll be praying that these words give everyone that needs it a boost.

When you’re in tough times and it looks like you’re never going to break out, you’ve got to say, “I won’t be staying here long. This may be where I am, but it is not who I am.” When you face tough times, remind yourself that you’ve been anointed for this. Hold on to your joy and stay full of praise.

Scripture says in Proverbs 3:5, “Lean not to your own understanding.” Sometimes there’s no logical solution to what you're facing. All you have to do is believe.

July 21 - Let’s start the morning with a pray of Thanks…Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace and for your love. Also, thank you for the great weekend and please guide us through this coming week. We ask that you would use us as messengers of praise. We thank you in advance for helping us make others lives a little brighter. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Quickly a thank you to all of you for your well wishes and love shown to Ashleigh and Adam yesterday. I could see you all think they are as special as I do. My faith reassures me that God will bless them with a happy life together.

I know it’s a new work week and we may have a tendency to drag a bit. Your life can be as beautiful as you make it. Ask God for guidance to make this a great week. Challenge yourself to smile and say hello to everyone you meet; sometimes it’s just interesting to see the other persons reaction.

Attitude, it’s all about YOUR attitude!! A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. Proverbs 15:30.

Father, we give thanks for our past, present, and future. We thank you for every person, experience, and opportunity you have placed in our lives. We count it all as joy. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

May God bless your week!!

July 20 - Today’s message will not be like the typical daily messages I send out. Today is my youngest daughter’s bridal shower. I couldn’t be happier or prouder of Ashleigh and Adam. The maturity and unconditional love they show towards each other warms my heart. Knowing God is with them makes be SMILE!!

There is nothing like being around family and friends who love you with all their hearts and I pray that warmth is felt today. God has blessed them with each other’s love. September 27th will be here soon!!!  I ask that you please keep Ashleigh and Adam in your prayers as this joyous journey begins.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the blessing of family and friends of Ashleigh and Adam. Today we will start the celebration of their upcoming wedding. Be with them now and forever as they prepare their hearts for the gift of marriage, and be with them always as they grow in their unconditional love and face the ups and downs of life together. Protect them physically, mentally and spiritually. Help them to accept one another as they are and leave any changing that needs to be done in your hands. Finally, in YOUR time, please help them to offer the world a symbol of their love and commitment – the gift of children.  Amen.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. - 1 Corinthians 13:4

July 19 -  I discovered this in one of my devotionals this morning and thought this was a rather simple way of looking at our forgiven sins. I know it’s something I can relate to and have wanted to use the delete more often than I’d like to admit.

Years ago, one man made a rather large fortune by inventing erasers for pencils. Someone else made an even bigger fortune when he invented the delete key for computers. God, however, makes no mistakes, and consequently He needs no eraser for Himself. Yet, in a sense, he erases, not His, but our mistakes and sins. In a hymn we pray: All our sinfulness erase, with the increase of Your grace.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed our transgressions from us.  – Psalm 103:12

God removes our sins, puts them behind Him, buries them in the deep sea, cleanses and washes them away with the blood of Jesus. I guess we could say God uses the delete key, and when He does, the screens on which our sins were recorded are thoroughly blank. Jesus, His Son our Savior paid the price for all our sins.  For this all the Glory goes to our Savior.

Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. - Isaiah 1:18

July 18 - Today I’m posting a few Bible verses that encourage me to always lean and rely on God the Father for support.

I will give my problems to the Lord and thank Him for what He is going to do. "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:14

When God tells you He will be with you that means no matter what the circumstances, everything will work out all right. There will be times when you have to encourage yourself. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

The Lord is a comforter. He can turn your sadness into a reason to rejoice. "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;" 2 Corinthians 1:3

Smile a little today. Laugh a little today. God wants you to be joyful. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22

July 17 -  There’s only one way… and that is through Christ. Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6. There is no other name by which we must be saved.

There may be a number of ways to get to a particular place on this earth, whether it’s to reach a particular destination or to climb the corporate ladder, but there’s only one way to our eternal destination. Non-believers may view that as arrogance, to say the only way is through God. But we are saved solely by God’s grace. What a gift we do not deserve!!

I asked my Android phone how do I get to Heaven and the results were at least biblical. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” God isn’t waiting to judge you or condemn you, since we gave us the promise of forgiveness. He wants to receive you with mercy and love.

Then I asked Ashleigh to ask Siri…She was asked to choose which Heaven?!? Believe it or not New Haven was listed. Then she re-phrased her question, “How do I meet God?” Siri then said I see no meetings with God on your calendar from a particular date to July 17th…I guess that’s a positive thing.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16.

Dear Father, I’m so blessed to know about your promised gifts. My request today is that this message reaches one or many that may not know and may have doubts. This world can be a scary place, but with you carrying us we have nothing to fear. In your Holy Name. Amen

July 16 - "There is nothing God cannot do. Think big, think positive, think victorious. "And he said, the things which are impossible with men are possible with God." Luke 18:27.

Wake up every morning and thank the Lord for a new day. Before we even think about getting out of bed God has already set our path for the day. All things are possible with Him by our sides. There are hidden treasures placed along the way as we get through the day. Some in the form of trails that may shake our world as we know it, but know He’s there. Others are blessings that reveal God’s presence; sunshine, flowers, new friendships, rekindled friendships, answered prayers. Search for deep treasures as you go through your day. I promise you’ll find Him along the way.

While you worry about the small things, God is looking at the big picture. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD." Isaiah 55:8

July 15 - Some people think that to be strong is to never feel pain or hurt. In reality, the strongest people are the ones who feel it, understand it, and accept it. Some people that are hurting have always had to be strong, carry the load and sometimes put on a front.

Some of the most comforting words in the universe are “me too.” That moment when you find out that your struggle is also someone else’s struggle, than you’re not alone, and that others have been or may be going down the same road.

Sure, not every day will be good, but there will always be something good about every day. Notice these things and celebrate them. Positivity is a choice, so train your mind to see what’s right and good. Encourage someone today…SMILE and tell them you “Love” them or “I’ve been thinking about you!!”

Encouragement may not sound like much, but it’s everything!! Deep down, every human being strives to hear they are making difference due to their hard work. The memory of a pat on the back for a job well done can last a life time. God gives us a pat on the back daily, but we may not always take the time to recognize it. I guarantee you will be part of someone’s memories for a long, long time and chances are your attitude and encouragement will rub off on others.  Thank you to all that have encouraged me over the past months…. I have a lot of great lasting memories.

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.” – Proverbs 12:25

July 14 - "God’s working His grace and His strength in my weakness. When I’m willing to be weak, He gets to be strong. When I’m willing to be real, He uses it to help others see, pray for and get to know the “real me” and the real God I desperately need and love." – Renee Swope

Let's live our lives to the fullest today..."God is within her, she will not fall. God will help her at break of day." - Psalm 46:5

God expects us to give it our all and don’t hold back and in the end wonder if things would have been different if we hadn’t just gone the motions of the same thing, day in day out.

As Matthew West’s song “The Motions” states…
I don't wanna go through the motions
I don't wanna go one more day
Without Your all consuming passion inside of me

I don't wanna spend my whole life asking
What if I had given everything
Instead of going through the motions?

July 13 - With my busy summer, and commitments (which is no excuse) I feel like I haven’t been with my Faith family in weeks. Sure, God knows I still love Him and He still loves me, but being surrounded by family and friends in God’s presence is what gives us the renewed and fulfilled sense to continue doing His work. Some mornings I feel myself dragging, but a renewed time with my church family puts a smile on my face!!

Sure if you’re a believer, some say, “I don’t need to go to church, I believe in Him.” Yes, you may believe in Him and His gift to you is eternal life, but don’t you want to experience everything God has put in place for you; His love greatly enhances your experience. I’ve definitely found the right place to find that renewal of my spirit. Going to worship Him is more than just walking into church and just listening to the minister.

It’s as much about being there for others that may need you and your faith and receiving that in return. The Father is there to carry us, but He want us to be with others that may be going through similar problems to ours and to help each other through the tough times. What it boils down to is that God is all about us and forgiveness is His gift. He will not let us fell on our face, but in my mind we need to give Him all the respect we can.

If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand. – Psalm 37:23-24

Start listening more to what God has to say to you…It may change your life. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

July 12 - Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit with-in me. – Psalm 51:10

Jesus teaches that our lives can change. Through pray, for prayer changes things. He believes immoral lives can be changed as well. But it is up to those to want to change and pray to ask for true change.

I believe he changed my life through prayers. When we were given the news of cancer and my doctor believed it was the worst form of brain cancer all my pray warriors were on it. I personally believed that God could make that cancer any form He wanted it to be....He had a plan. I still firmly believe that the shock of it all was to be a wake call for me do His work and in order to do that I’ll have to stay around for a while. A portion of that cancer will always be there, but that’s not holding me back. When I was asked by my surgeon right before she when in, what do you want out of this surgery?!? I looked at her like she was crazy…I said I want to know all my family and friends by name and I pray for a meaningful life no matter how long I have on this earth. She said, OK and smiled. She is one of my earthly heroes. I was so blessed to be given her as the neurosurgeon on call at the emergency room; that was all God’s doings!! Prayer can change everything!! One Day at a Time!!

Dear Father, only you know what you have in store for each and every one of us. Please help us to know in hearts, that all changes are for the better. You’ve never said life will always be a rose garden, but you do promise to give us strength to cope, courage to continue, and hope for our future. In your Holy name we pray. Amen

Praying is believing it will happen…”Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24

July 11 - God’s word encourages us to be active, and by being active we shut the door to laziness, procrastination, and passivity. – Joyce Meyer

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Trust marks maturity…A believer who can trust the Father when things do not seem to make sense is a mature believer.  Many things happen in our lives daily that do not seem to make sense to US. When things don’t make sense, we can easily become doubtful whether God is really there, that’s when our maturity as a believer needs to kick in.  Stay active in order to keep your mind busy, put your trust in the Father and lean on friends that can get you through those rough times; over time things will come together and start to make sense…He wants the best for us; we need to stay out of His way and “Be still” for the moment.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

These are two of my favorite verses. They have gotten me through some trying times. Just knowing I have no control over what God has in store for me is enough EXCITEMENT to be still and know He will take care of everything.

Dear Father, help us daily to know you are always near us and watching out for us. There many times when we ask "Why?"  Help us to bring out the "Mature Believer" in us and trust you unconditionally. I pray this in your Holy name. Amen.

July 9 - A good reputation is an asset and important in our lives. Our reputation should stand for what we really are, not for what people think we are. I’m proud to be what I am and who I’ve become. I feel that my reputation is a reflection of God and how I’ve been raised. The things I do in my life will not be done just halfway. God knows when I’m slacking off and not being my true self; there is no hiding from God.

We should trust in God…..”to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” - Ephesians 4:23-24

A good reputation is based on true virtue and is no accident; it is nothing automatic. I comes as a fruit of faith in Jesus Christ.  Be like Christ, and your good will be established.

In His likeness we were made, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart, says the Lord.” – Jeremiah 1:5

Dear Lord, I pray that you open my eyes to see the person you have created. Help me to always represent you in all I do. I know you are always with me and always know what’s on my mind. Thanks to Your presence all is well in my heart. I pray this in Your Holy Name. Amen

July 6 - It was a great weekend to spend with family and friends, but now on to a new week.

Thank you Jesus for the independence and freedom we celebrated this weekend in the USA. May this holiday remind us to live in “dependence” on You: help all to find our freedom in Christ and depending on Your grace with every breath we take!

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. – 2 Corinthians 3:17

July - 5 "No one in the history of the world has ever found more time or made more time. We all get 168 hours a week. No more. No less. And too many of us are missing out on too much. We have to slow the rhythm of rush in our lives so the best of who we are can emerge..." - Lysa TerKeurst

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Enjoy every moment of every day. Surround yourself with people who care about you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. – Jeremiah 29:11

July 4 - Lord, we thank you for blessings seen and unseen. "Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD." Psalms 150:6

Today I think about the number of our early ancestors that headed to America for something better. They had only heard of what they were heading to, hoping for blessings and a new home yet unseen. I also think of those that have fought to give us freedom and a better life. Some of which went into the unseen war zones and will never return to their families. I pray that those that have given their life in order for us to have a better life are enjoy enjoying eternal life with our maker. May God bless the United States of America and all His children!!

Happy 4th of July!! If the Son make you free, you shall be free indeed. – John 8:36

July 3 - "He has made everything beautiful in its time ..." Ecclesiastes 3:11

Sometimes life hurts. Some things may never be perfect. But with time, God can take the hard and make you happy. He can take the sorrow and make you smile.

He can turn the mountain you are climbing of grief or regret into a place where you can view the beautiful landscaping He has created on your behalf. God makes things beautiful in time. Hang in there. Have the courage to allow time to pass between our place of pain and unveiling of joy.

Our Father in Heaven, I wish I could fix everything. I wish I could make it all just the way I want it to be. Truth be told ... I get frustrated when I can't. Help me to wait on You and Your timing. Give me courage to trust You and believe that You are always good, and have my best interest at heart, despite how things may feel from time to time. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
