New Haven 4th Grade Girls Take Second In New Haven Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Last Sunday, Feb. 15, New Haven’s Girls Basketball Team took second place in their own tournament, hosted at the Elementary School.

The Lady Shamrocks got off to solid start by defeating St. Clair 18-6 and then were able to slip past Holy Family 12-8, advancing into the Championship game.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Courtney Strait notched her second straight double-double, Michalina Tomczak scored seven of her game-high 17 points in overtime and the Truman Women's Basketball team picked up a huge road win in overtime over Maryville (Mo.) University 78-72 on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs led by eight at 66-58 with 3:37 to play but the Saints fought back to score eight straight points to knot the score with 35 seconds left in regulation.

HERMANN, Mo. - New Haven’s 5th Grade Girls Basketball Team racked up another first place finish this past weekend by winning the Hermann Tournament.

New Haven, seeded first in Saturday’s seven team tournament was given a first round bye before defeating Montgomery County 33-6 and advancing into the championship game.

PACIFIC, Mo. - Saturday afternoon the Junior Varsity Lady Shamrocks won their 18th straight by knocking off undefeated Park Hills 48-36 to win the Pacific JV Tournament.

New Haven began the tournament by defeating Pacific on Wednesday, advancing into this mornings semifinals against Sullivan.

ST. CLAIR, Mo. - The New Haven 4th grade Girls Basketball Team began Saturday’s St. Clair Tournament with back-to-back wins to advance into the Championship game, which had fans on the edge of their seats.

ST. CLAIR, Mo. - The New Haven 5th Grade Girls Basketball Team took first place this past weekend on Saturday in the St. Clair Tournament.

The Lady Shamrocks were all business, beginning the day by defeating Cuba 29-2.  Because there was a team drop out of the tournament at the last minute, New Haven was given a first round by and thus defeating Cuba placed them in the Championship game against Sullivan.

ROLLA, Mo. - A hot start and a hot finish gave the Truman Women's Basketball team a 70-51 road victory in Great Lakes Valley Conference play over Missouri S&T on Saturday afternoon.

Allie Norton (pictured left) scored 17 of her game-high 22 points in the first half and tied her career mark with six three-pointers while moving into eighth on the Truman all-time scoring list in the victory.

SALEM, Mo. - This past weekend New Haven’s 5th Grade Girls competed in the Salem Basketball Tournament, where they defeated Owensville 39-6 to win third place.
