Union Man Crashes Through Fence, Admits to Meth Use

Union, Mo. - Yesterday morning at approximately 9:15 a.m., a 41 year-old male suspect was northbound on Independence Drive when he ran off the road and drove through a section of chain-link fence at Silgan Plastic Food Containers.

The suspect was found to be impaired and was arrested for C & I and Driving while Drugged.

Nike Base School Placed On Lockdown After False Report Of Shots Fired

Catawissa, Mo. - This morning at approximately 8:17 a.m. Nike Base School in Catawissa was placed on locked down after the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received a report of shots being fired near the school.

Sheriff Gary Toelke said in a statement this afternoon that the caller reported that he was being approached by a subject who stated that he was being chased by the Mexican mafia and that they were shooting at him.

Counterfeit Checks Circulating in the Area with Valid Routing Number

St. Clair, Mo. - The St. Clair Police Department would like to notify area businesses and citizens of a ring of counterfeit checks being passed.

It is recommended that businesses do not accept these checks and immediately contact the St. Clair Police Department (636-629-1313) when someone is attempting to cash one. 

The checks are official checks issued in the bank's name using a correct routing number of 314074269, which is assigned to USAA Federal Savings Bank located at 10750 McDermott FWY, San Antonio, Texas 78288-0544. 

Franklin County Deputies Make Arrest In Shooting Of St. Clair Man

Sullivan, Mo. - This morning Sheriff Gary Toelke released information regarding the shooting that took place last Thursday when a St. Clair man was shot in the back, sustaining serious injuries and was flown to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.  His current condition is not known.

The shooting took place on Lollar Branch Road near Stanton on Oct. 17 and after further investigation, Dillon Carter, a white male, age 33 from Union/Robertsville, has been charged with assault first.

BREAKING NEWS: State Trooper Shot After Bank Robbery in Dutzow, Mo

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed that First Bank in Dutzow was robbed early Friday morning  around 9 a.m.

All law enforcement agencies including the MSHP were given a description of the vehicle that the suspect was seen taking off in.

A state trooper observed a vehicle matching the description and after attempting to make a traffic stop the suspect began fleeing the the trooper in what turned into a high speed pursuit.

The MSHP has also confirmed that a trooper and the individual who committed the robbery were both shot when an exchange of gun fire occurred. 

Washington Checkpoint produces fugitive arrest

On Friday, September 13, 2013 from 10 p.m. until Saturday at 2 a.m., the Washington Police Department conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint at the intersection of Highway 47 and Washington Corners. 

517 vehicles were checked on southbound Highway 47.

According to Chief Hahn, Four individuals were taken into custody and the following charges sought:

Union Man Runs Over Girlfriend - Later Found Hiding In Cabin

Union, Mo. - Thursday night at approximately 10:30 p.m., Franklin County deputies responded for a domestic call at a residence in the 100 block of Indian Prairie Lane outside of Union.

The caller told 911 dispatchers he had received a phone call from his mother stating that she had been injured by her boyfriend.

Before deputies arrived on scene, the boyfriend had already fled and a description of the his vehicle was obtained by law enforcement.

The female told deputies the two of them had gotten into an argument when she then asked him to leave.

New Have Police And Sheriff's Departments Call Drunk Driving Crackdown Huge Success

New Haven, Mo. - The New Haven Police and Franklin County Sheriff's Departments declares their participation in the nation’s annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” drunk driving crackdown a success, the New Haven Police Dept. reported one DWI arrest, two Warrant Arrests, 16 citations ranging from no insurance, speeding, and spinning tires to Driving while Revoked and Using the License Plates of another person.

There was a total of 120 car stops, and 107 warnings for multiple violations including fail to stop at stop signs, equipment violations, speeding and not registering the vehicle.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported that more than 4 drunk driving arrests, 2 fugitive arrests and 74 citations were made during the enforcement period, which ran from August 16 to September 2, 2013.
