Three Car Pile Up On Highway 50 Leaves Two Injuried

Beaufort, Mo. - The chance of someone being involved in a traffic crash will drastically increase this Memorial Day weekend as drivers hit the roadways.

Earlier this afternoon shortly after 1 p.m., Beaufort/Leslie Fire and Gerald EMS responded for a three car accident on Highway 50 and Black Hollow Lane, approximately one mile west of Highway 185.

Head-On Crash At Highway 50 And Highway C Leaves Two Injured

Gerald, Mo. - Late this afternoon two vehicles collided at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway C resulting in three ambulances responding, two from Gerald and one from New Haven, along with Beaufort/Leslie Fire Department.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report the accident occurred around 4:45 this afternoon after 29-year-old Carman Newman of Union, Mo. was traveling eastbound on Highway 50 when she crossed the centerline, hitting an oncoming vehicle head-on.

19 Year Old Injured In Motorcycle verses Tow Truck Accident

Lyon, Mo. - Late yesterday evening 19-year-old Thomas Schackleford of Leslie, Mo. sustained moderate injuries after he was ejected from his motorcycle, this according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

New Haven EMS and New Haven/Berger Fire crews responded at 9:49 p.m. to the area of Highway 185 and Rolling Hills Road, approximately 11 miles southeast of New Haven for a tow truck verses motorcycle crash.

Berger, Mo. – Friday morning’s blaze left 11 people displaced and the vast majority of their personal belongings destroyed, according to New Haven-Berger Deputy Chief Brad Maune.

According to Maune, there was one person home at the time of the fire, however the structure is divided into three apartments, two upstairs and a third in the basement.  It is not known which apartment the individual was living in.

Franklin County, Mo. - Franklin County’s Homeland Security Response Team (HRST) is the team is made up of specially trained first responders from around the county. The team is fully equipped to handle any type of biological and/or Hazards Material (HazMat) incidents that may occur in the county.

New Haven- Berger Fire was one of the initial participating agencies when the HSRT was formed and continues to play an active role today.

Two are lucky to survive crash uninjured - Driver Charged With DWI

Berger, Mo.
– While no one was injuried in Saturday's crash 35-year-old Ami Turner of Desoto, Mo was arrested and charged with a DWI.

Saturday evening shortly before 6 p.m. New Haven/Berger Fire Department responded for a second vehicle rollover in as many days.

The accident occurred just west of the Franklin/Gasconade County line on Highway 100 in the area of Berger Road.

The driver of a white Mazda truck easily could have been the cause of a catastrophic crash, fortunately both the driver and passenger walked away uninjured, most importantly there was no oncoming vehicle when she crossed the center line.

Inattentive Driving Leaves Two Injured - Rolling PT Cruiser

– New Haven/Berger Fire and New Haven EMS responded early Friday evening around 5:20 p.m. for a vehicle rollover on Highway E and Good Hope Road, approximately six miles south of New Haven.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that inattentiveness lead to Friday evening’s accident, sending two people transported to Mercy Hospital by EMS

According to the MSHP 20-year-old Jeffrey Dieckhaus was driving the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser when losing control while inattentive, sustaining minor injuries.

In the vehicle with Dickhause was 16-year-old Michael Weigel who also sustained only minor injuries.  Both individuals are from New Haven, Mo. and both were wearing their seatbelts.

Two Firefighters Bring A Smile To House Fire Victim

New Haven, Mo. – No one ever expects coming home after a day of work to their home filled with smoke and all of their possessions destroyed except for the cloths they’re wearing.

Unfortunately this was the case for the resident of Monday’s house fire after he came home from work only to find his home filled with smoke.

He told QuickNewsNow after arriving home he went inside in an attempt to locate the source.  When he opened the door to one of the bedrooms heavy smoke began barreling from the room. He slammed the door shut, grabbing a phone as he ran outside to call 911.
