Elizabeth M. Klophaus (Westhoelter) September 29, 1935 - March 1, 2015

Elizabeth  M.  Klophaus, 79, of Berger, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann, Missouri.

Mrs. Klophaus was born in New Haven, Missouri on September 29, 1935, the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Wotipka) Westhoelter.

She was the widow of Merlin Otto Klophaus.

Margaret "Peggy" Meyer May 18, 1926 - February 6, 2015

Margaret (Peggy) Meyer age 88 passed away on February 6, 2015 at home.  She was born May 18, 1926, in Berger, Missouri, the daughter of John H. LaBoube and wife Mary, nee Meyer. Peggy was baptized at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Berger.

She graduated from the Parochial there and later received her high school GED.
She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in New Haven where earlier she had served on the Church Council. At one time, Peggy served as Treasurer for the Senior Housing Board.

After employment with the Langenberg Cap factory in Berger, she went to Kirkwood where she worked as a clerk receptionist in St. Joseph's Hospital and later became a dental assistant until her marriage.

Norma D. Rohlfing (Traub) February 15, 1939 - January 6, 2015

Norma  D.  Rohlfing, 75, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.

Mrs. Rohlfing was born in Stony Hill, Missouri on February 15, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Kottmeyer) Traub.

She was the widow of Marvin B. Rohlfing.  They were married September 9, 1961 at St. James U.C.C., Stony Hill, MO.  Marvin preceded her in death on October 7, 2009.

Michael Dean LaBoube January 16, 1987 - January 1, 2015

Michael  Dean  LaBoube, 27, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Berger, Missouri.

Mr. LaBoube was born in Hermann, Missouri on January 16, 1987, the son of  Dean E. LaBoube and LouAnn (Caspers) Hatfield.

Michael formerly worked for Wal-Mart as a clerk. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, dancing, watching American Idol and playing video games.

NHHS TV/Video Class Producing WWII Memoir Asking Area WWII Veterans For Help

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The New Haven High School TV/ Video class requests the assistance of New Haven area WWII Veterans in the production of a WWII video memoir that the class is producing.

Group and individual interviews will be conducted  on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 9:30am-11:30am in the New Haven High School Library.

Archie A. Willimann (February 25, 1934 ~ October 31, 2014)

Mr. Archie  A.  Willimann, 80, of Berger, passed away Friday, October 31st, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.

Mr. Willimann was born in Berger, Missouri on February 25, 1934, the son of the late Archie and Betty (Kellner) Willimann Sr.

He worked for  MO-DOT  working from the Swiss and New Haven area  Departments. Archie retired in 1989 as a supervisor for the New Haven area after completing 31 years with MO-DOT. He also farmed his whole life.

William "Bill" M. Schwaller (November 20, 1962 - September 25, 2014)

William "Bill" M. Schwaller, 51, of Berger, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.

Mr. Schwaller was born in Washington, Missouri on November 20, 1962, the son of the late Norbert J. and Mary G. (Rodgers) Schwaller.

He was the husband of Margaret (Gary) Schwaller. They were married July 3, 2008 at Hermann, Missouri. Margaret survives at the home.

One person Killed In Highway 100 Accident

BERGER, Mo. - Tuesday evening at 4:56 p.m. New Haven/Berger fire crews and Hermann EMS Paramedics responded for a vehicle rollover involving one car on Highway 100, just east of Highway B near Berger, leaving Highway 100 shut down for just over three hours.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), one person was killed and a second was transported by Hermann EMS to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.

UDPATED: Highway 100 Near Berger Reopened After Vehicle Accident Left Highway Shutdown For 3 Hours

(UPDATED: 7:14 p.m.) BERGER, Mo. - Highway 100 has now been reopened after being shutdown for 3 hours following a vehicle crash near the intersection of Highway B at Berger.

Fire crews from New Haven and Hermann along with Hermann EMS responded for the motor vehicle accident earlier this evening at 4:56 p.m.
