Franklin County Investigators Recovery Large Number Of Weapons In Elmont Road Burglary

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo
. -On May 18 the third subject charged in the Elmont Burglary was taken in to custody by St. Louis City Police.  St. Louis Police were notified by Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies that the individual was wanted and living in the St. Louis area. 

St. Louis Police began watching the residence and observed the subject on the 18th.  During the arrest attempt the subject fled out the back door of the residence but was taken in to custody.  He is identified as Dale Poirrier a white male, age 33 from Jefferson Street in St. Louis.  A photo of  Poirrier is not available at this time through our Office. 

Union Man At Large For Burglary And Sexual Abuse - Union PD Asking For Public’s Help

UNION, Mo. - Vennie H. Dowel,(Pictured on left) 34-year-old white male, previously from Union, Mo is currently at large and has been charged with Burglary 1st Degree and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree.

The Union Police Department is asking for anyone with information about the whereabouts of Dowel to contact the Union Police Department at 636-583-3700 or 636-583-2560.

Dowel has been charged in a case that began on Sunday May 11 when a 30-year-old female reported being assaulted while working at a store located at 810 N. Church St in Union, Mo.

The victim told police the incident had taken place on Saturday and described the suspect as a white male approximately 40 years old, approximately 6'4'' tall and "stocky" built but was not “fat".

Franklin County Sheriff's Department Sobriety Check Points May 2nd - 4th

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - Deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting sobriety checkpoints over the weekend of May 2-4th. 

Funding to operate the sobriety checkpoints are being paid for via alcohol related grants provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division.

Habitat For Humanity Of Franklin County Annual Dinner Auction April 25

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - On Friday, April 25th, Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County is holding its second Dinner and Auction.

Fraudulent Income Tax Filings Reported In Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - This morning Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke released a statement regarding fraudulent tax filings.

Toelke said in the past few weeks his department has received 5 reports of fraudulent income tax filings from citizens living in rural Franklin County.

Citizens reported filing their taxes only to find out that someone had already filed a tax return using their social security number or their identity.

New Haven Fifth Graders Complete D.A.R.E. Program - Faris & Wideman Win Essay Contest

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Fifth graders at New Haven Elementary School celebrated their completion of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program with a graduation ceremony held on Tuesday.

Part of completing the D.A.R.E program requires each student to write an essay on a topic related to staying drug free.  Two winners are then selected and read their essays during the graduation ceremony.

KFAV Receives Country Radio Station And Program Director Of The Year Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA - Earlier this month New Music Weekly announced its winners for their annual New Music Awards.  Local country music radio station KFAV was among some of the biggest names in country to receive awards.

For an unprecedented fourth time KFAV’s Mike Thomas received the Program Director of the Year Award and this year’s New Music Awards marked the first time that KFAV 99.9 FM was named Country Radio Station of the Year.

Along side KFAV, Luke Bryan and Maranda Lambert received Country Male and Female Artists of the Year, Country Group/Duo of the Year went to Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line received Best New Country Group/Duo of the Year, and Blake Shelton’s “Boys Round Here” was the Country Single of the Year.
